Position Title: Ramp Manager

Location: Boston, MA (BOS)

Salary: $55K – 65K

Shift: Varies Based on Station Needs


Position Purpose

Lead and direct all day-to-day operational ramp activities at the Boston, MA station. Responsibilities include but are not limited to below the wing aircraft service for multiple airlines at the BOS International Airport. Safety, security, training and compliance are the cornerstones of this operation and are critical requirements to achieving operational excellence. It is absolutely imperative that the Ramp Manager be the leader in developing teamwork and a working relationship with airline customers. The Ramp Manager will be required to deliver against operational and financial performance goals and execute in accordance with strict airline, government and airport regulations. The Ramp Manager will develop their team of supervisors and front line agents to provide superior service to the customer.


  • Work with the local General Manager and airline customers/stakeholders to maximize operational performance in areas of on-time performance, staffing, training, compliance and safety
  • Manage scheduling of employees and workgroup assignments
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Internal controls – conducts periodic internal controls audits
  • Directly oversee ground support equipment at BOS
  • Interact with airport authorities, government agencies, airline customers and external organizations
  • Deliver against operational and financial goals and objectives
  • Plan and executes resource allocation for staffing and ground equipment
  • Accountable for reliability, customer service delivery, fostering positive employee relations, cost management, and regulatory compliance
  • Support HR policy, benefit and compensation programs


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Aviation Management or related field and/or equivalent experience
  • 3 – 5 years of airline/aviation experience
  • Strong working knowledge of airline operations
  • Proven business acumen, technical learning/innovation management and a drive for results
  • Ability to understand financial implications (cost benefit) in operational decisions
  • Creative and innovative to improve delivery of service excellence
  • Superior problem-solving, conflict management and decision making skills
  • Demonstrated communication, leadership and analytical skills
  • Ability to develop effective relationships at all levels
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office software (especially Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)


In addition to these qualifications, you must also:

  • Pass a Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) 10-year background check and pre-employment drug test
  • Pass a Department of Homeland Security/Transportation Security Administration (TSA) security       assessment
  • Must have a valid driver’s license
  • Must have a recommendation from your direct supervisor and/or manager (internal candidates only)
