Overview

Position Title: Ramp Supervisor
Location: Columbus, OH
Salary: $16.50 per hour

 

The Ramp Supervisor is responsible for serving the needs of the individual airline and the associated requirements of their aircraft in accordance with individual airline and Jetstream’s policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out a wide variety of duties as they pertain to SAFE aircraft ground handling processes and procedures.
  • Document and review all aircraft arrival and departure documentation for successful delivery.
  • Operate and inspect aircraft flight deck for proper hydraulic pressure levels.
  • Assist crewmembers in performing ADHOC ramp duties as needed to ensure the successful aircraft arrival and departure.
  • Deliver clear verbal and written communication to staff.
  • Coordinates with upper management for daily briefing at the beginning and end of each shift prior to daily shift activity, plans for special equipment requirements.
  • Monitor, train and safely deploy Ramp Agents and Operations
  • Determine scheduling and forecasting of aircraft and ground services personnel

Qualifications

  • Two years of experience in Commercial Aviation, preferably in an outsourcing environment. Experience should include the following:
  • Ramp - Narrow body aircraft.
  • Baggage Services - International and Domestic
  • Cabin Service - Domestic
  • Cargo - Loading and Off Loading
  • Ground Support Equipment - Inventory and Servicing procedures.
  • A good working knowledge of ground handling.
  • Successfully pass a pre-employment drug screening and 10 year background investigation.
  • Hold a valid driver’s license and have a reliable source of transportation.
  • Eligible to work in the United States
  • Ability to work flexible shifts, work weekends, holidays and extended shifts as determined on current operational needs.
  • Strong Communication across multi-channel segments (i.e. Airport Authority, Ramp, Bag Room,
  • Middle and Senior Level Management).
  • Ability to Multi-Task in an aggressive environment (i.e. radio, land line, computer and face-to-face).

Physical Requirements:

  • Stand, bend and/or stoop for periods of time
  • Lift up to/at least 50 pounds
  • Walk up/down jet bridge stairs at various angles
  • Learn the various types of aircraft in the airline’s fleet and their individual cleaning requirements
  • Able to work under pressure in a team environment
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment and under tight time constraints
  • Able to handle multiple tasks and seek assistance from fellow team members when necessary
  • Interact directly with customers, airline personnel and fellow team members to resolve problems and issues that may arise during the shift
