Overview

Position Title: Aircraft Appearance Operations Manager

Reports To: Director of Hub Operations

Location: Charlotte, NC

 

Position Purpose:

 

The Aircraft Appearance Operations Manager is responsible for aircraft appearance, lavatory service, aircraft provisioning, and the administration of the CLT Hub as directed by the Director of Hub Operations.  The ideal candidate is an outside-of-the-box thinker, assertive, has the ability to multi-task under pressure, understands efficiencies, can manage multiple work groups, and is budget conscious. Safety, security, and compliance are the cornerstones of this operation and are critical requirements to achieving operational excellence. 

The Aircraft Appearance Operations Manager will be required to deliver against operational and financial performance goals and execute in accordance with strict airline, government, and airport regulations. This position is expected to identify opportunities for expansion at the location and develop our people for personal and professional growth. The operation size for this station is approximately 300+ employees and around 300 departures daily.

Responsibilities

  • Determine and maintain the necessary and appropriate amount of personnel and equipment necessary to fulfill these requirements
  • Direct and control people and equipment to efficiently complete the tasks within established company standards. This is achieved through disciplined following of work schedules along with established company standards
  • Be knowledgeable about company policies and procedures, and interpret manuals these policies and procedures in order to relate the interpretations relay them to subordinates
  • Ensure aircraft cleanliness per customer and company standards
  • Monitor and/or conduct required training of personnel
  • Conduct employee performance evaluations
  • Provide employee counseling and discipline as needed
  • Be responsible for the security of aircraft, supplies, and equipment
  • Be responsible for insuring compliance with established company safety policies and procedures
  • Maintain working relationship with customers and provide prompt response to service requests.
  • Actively search for and report to station management future business opportunities.
  • Support HR policy, benefit, and compensation programs

Qualifications

  • Strong working knowledge of airline operations specifically on aircraft appearance
  • Ability to understand financial implications (cost benefit) in operational decisions
  • Self-motivated with ability to multi-task
  • Creative and innovative to improve delivery of service excellence
  • Superior problem-solving, conflict management and decision making skills
  • Demonstrate communication, leadership, and analytical skills; ability to develop effective relationships at all levels
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office software (especially Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
  • Three (3) years progressive management experience including customer service, ground handling of commercial aircraft or wide-and narrow-body aircraft

 

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift up to at least 30 pounds
  • Must be able to stand, lift, bend, push, and pull for extended periods of time
  • Must be willing to work outside in all types of weather and elevated noise levels within the airport environment
