Overview

Position Title:  Operations Manager

Reports To:  Ramp Manager

Location: BOS

Salary: $60-65K Annually

 

Position Purpose

The Operations Manager is responsible for servicing the needs of the individual airlines and the associated servicing requirements of their aircrafts in accordance with individual airline and Jetstream’s policies and procedures. This position directly oversees the BOS ramp operations which includes ramp supervisors, ramp agent and service agents. The shifts for this position vary based on operational need, however primarily will be a first shift (0400-1230) position. This is an operational management position and includes working in the operation with subordinates on a daily basis.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out a wide variety of duties as they pertain to SAFE aircraft ground handling processes and procedures.

  • Act as a liaison between Jetstream and airline partners.

  • Deliver clear verbal and written communication to staff.

  • Mentor subordinates for organizational growth

  • Develop a TEAM atmosphere

  • Work and drive station to meet operational goals.

  • Monitor, train and safely oversee a staff of 15-20 employees.

  • Determine scheduling and forecasting of aircraft and ground services personnel.

  • Oversee ramp operations and adherence to airline and company operations manuals.

  • Monitoring the team’s activities during his/her respective shift through visual inspections and quality assurance/compliance checks.

  • Assist with aircraft cleaning, security search, and audit process and ramp operations.

  • Ensure team members maintain compliance in safety and security policies and procedures

  • Implement an action plan for reduction in employee turnover

  • Interact directly with customers, airline personnel and fellow team members to resolve problems and issues that may arise during the shift

  • Other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

  • At least one (1) year of airline or ground handling supervisory experience or experience supervising individuals in a related field or a minimum of 3 years in a supervisory capacity outside of the aviation industry
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Reliable method of transportation to arrive at the work location on-time
  • Able to maintain a well-groomed and professional appearance
  • Pass a Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) 10-year background check and pre-employment drug test
  • Pass a Department of Homeland Security/Transportation Security Administration (TSA) security assessment
  • Legally eligible to work in the United States
  • Must have an valid driver’s license
  • Able to work under pressure in a team environment
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment and under tight time constraints
  • Able to handle multiple tasks and seek assistance from fellow team members when necessary

 

Physical Requirements:

  • Stand, bend and/or stoop for periods of time
  • Lift up to/at least 50 pounds
  • Walk up/down jet bridge stairs at various angles
  • Ability to meet and perform all ramp agent duties
