    Position Title: HR/Recruiting Specialist

    Classification: Full Time – Hourly

    Rate of Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour

    Reports to: Hiring Manager

     

    The Human Resources and Recruiting Specialist is responsible for performing HR-related duties on a professional level and works closely with senior HR management, Recruiting management, administrative and leadership teams, helping build strategy, improve organizational performance by improving hiring practices, and developing organizational capability for their assigned area.  This positon carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: evaluating resumes, scheduling and conducting interviews, employee relations, training, performance management, onboarding & off boarding, policy implementation, benefits, affirmative action and employment law compliance. 

    Responsibilities

    • Manage an applicant tracking system (iCIMS)
    • Evaluate and screen applications, resumes and/or cover letters
    • Conduct telephone and/or in-person interviews
    • Contact new employees and schedule onboarding process
    • Attend job fairs and careers events as needed
    • Counsel leadership on matters concerning development of staff to enhance effectiveness and potential
    • Provide guidance and counsel to leaders and employees with regard to programs, policies and procedures
    • Assist with conducting new hire orientation and processing new hire paperwork
    • Oversight of Time Force, a time management program that includes principles and attendance regulations/guidelines in conjunction with JGS employment manual and policies
    • Maintain human resources information system records and compile reports from the database
    • Maintain compliance with federal and state regulations concerning employment
    • Completion of unemployment questionnaires and employment verifications
    • Administer the compensation program; monitor the performance evaluation program and revise as necessary
    • Perform benefits administration to include communicating benefit information to employees and processing enrollments/changes
    • Perform other duties as required and assigned

    Qualifications

    Competencies:

    • Bilingual English/Spanish Preferred
    • Ability to prioritize and complete projects within deadline
    • Solid knowledge of HR policies and best practices
    • Familiarity with HR databases, applicant tracking systems and candidate management systems
    • Familiarity with social media, especially Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and LinkedIn
    • Ethical Conduct
    • Team player; lead and guide other employees when necessary

     

    Required Education & Experience:

    • Associate’s Degree in human resources and/or related fields; 3-5 years of human resources experience required or a combination of education and experience
    • Proven work experience as a Recruiting Coordinator or Recruiter

     

    Physical Requirements:

    The physical demands described here are representative to those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to:

     

    • Able to walk, sit and stand for extended period of time
    • Safely ascend and descent stairs with and without carrying any weight
    • Able to safely lift up to 25 lbs. and up to 50 lbs. occasionally

     

    Work Environment

    This job operates in a professional office environment as well as outdoors in an airport ramp environment. The employee may become exposed to the elements including but not limited to heat, rain, snow and loud noises. Hours will vary based on operational needs. Must be available to work a flexible schedule to include evenings, weekends and holidays.
