    Position Title: Human Resources Generalist

    Classification: Non-exempt

    Salary: $40,000 - $45,000 Annually

    Reports To: Director of Human Resources

    Location: Jupiter, Florida


    Position Purpose:

    The human resources generalist is responsible for performing HR-related duties on a professional level and works closely with senior HR management, administrative and leadership teams, helping build strategy, improve organizational performance by improving hiring practices, and developing organizational capability for their assigned area.  This position carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: employee relations, training, performance management, onboarding & off boarding, policy implementation, benefits, affirmative action and employment law compliance.  


    Essential Functions:

    • Maintains all employee and applicant documentation as dictated by governing agencies.
    • Manages and tracks all employee disciplinary action.
    • Coaches, counsels and guides managers before executing employee disciplinary actions.
    • Maintains and processes all Unemployment Notices of Entitlement and potential charges in a timely, efficient manner. Attends unemployment hearings when necessary.
    • Assists with recruitment tasks as needed (reviews applications, interviews).
    • Acts as an employee relations specialist.
    • Monitors tardy and absenteeism reports and ensures proper documentation is issued on employees who have excessive tardiness or absenteeism problems. Reports sick, personal day and holiday use to payroll and scheduling. Maintains and distributes report of same.
    • Performs HRIS data entry and personnel file maintenance.
    • Assists employees and supervisors with interpretation of HR policies and procedures.
    • Maintains, updates and distributes the employee phone list.
    • Ensures compliance with USCIS Form I-9 Employment Eligibility Verification; periodically audits Forms I-9.
    • Distributes and monitors employee performance evaluations and ensures they are done in a timely manner (i.e., one year and yearly thereafter).
    • Maintains and coordinates employee recognition programs.

    Required Education & Experience:

    • Associate’s Degree in human resources and/or related fields; 2-3 years of human resources experience required or a combination of education and experience


    Supervisory Responsibility

    This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities, but does serve as a coach and mentor to leadership and administrative positions.


    Work Environment

    This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.


    Physical Demands

    The physical demands described here are representative to those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.


    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. This is a mostly sedentary role; however, filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand on a stool as necessary.


    Position Type

    This is a full time positon. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Occasional evening work may be required as job duties demand.



    Little travel is expected for this position
